Self love is the ability to be able to love yourself even when you feel like you don’t have a reason to. Self love is freedom. Self love is essential to you growth in this life. Taking care of your body is an act of self love.
What inspired you to start your business? What motivates you to keep going?: My children, and the demand from social media. I have been using the products that I make since 2014, a push from social media inspired me to make them into a business. My children motivate me to keep going. My daughter mimics everything that I do, my son brags about his mother’s “growth essentials.” Wanting to inspire my children to be everything that they want to be inspires me.
How do you create the life you want?: I create the life I want by refusing to let the cards that I’ve been dealt dictate how far I can go. I’ve always dreamed beyond my reality and I’m determined to bring all of those dreams into fruition.
What makes you HUMAN?: Creating.
What's three things you want us to know about self-love/wellness?: Self love is the ability to be able to love yourself even when you feel like you don’t have a reason to. Self love is freedom. Self love is essential to you growth in this life. Taking care of your body is an act of self love.
What's something we can incorporate today to LIVE LIFE WELL?:: Mediation. Meditation is so freeing, it really teaches you to be still and to focus on what really matters, your breathing, your peace, stillness.

What inspired you to start your business? What motivates you to keep going?: After being a nurse for 11 years, and the physical/mental toll It took on me, I knew I needed a change. But I still wanted to help people and with a master of science focus in herbal medicine and genomics + nursing I knew I had to find a way to merge the two and the rest of my colorful background
How do you create the life you want?: I am first honest with myself by saying out loud what it is I want, then I write It down somewhere visible to train my mind. From there on out I become very conscious of making choices that align with what I want.
What makes you HUMAN?: My Chakras are aligned but I can still be with the sh!ts
Lol but really it’s true. I know I’m not perfect, I know I might fall but I equally also know It ain’t in me it’s in me so I always have to get back up.... for my clients I call It course correcting.
What's three things you want us to know about self-love/wellness?: 1. It’s a wholistic effort (mind body and spirit)

I wear my heart on my sleeve and openly show emotions. I love and feel deeply with my whole being. Not only do I love hard, but I feel just as hard as well. My feelings are intense, and I am sensitive to my emotions. I am aware of my emotions and the world around me. I used to see this as a weakness, but now I know my ability to express and be in tune with my true self is what makes me human.
What inspired you to start your business? What motivates you to keep going?: I was inspired to start teaching yoga, because I wanted to share the power of yoga with others. Yoga has been therapeutic and my way to release, relax and recharge daily. I truly believe everyone should experience the magic yoga holds. My burning passion and respect for yoga motivate me to keep going. It is such an honor to serve others and give with my whole heart by teaching yoga. The joy, gratitude, and humility I feel after sharing my experience with yoga or teaching a class fills me up and oozes out of my pores.
How do you create the life you want?: You create the life you want by listening to your intuition, and being honest with yourself and the world around you. By constantly clearing your mental, physical, and emotional space of what is no longer serving you, it allows you to let go of what is distracting you from what you are trying to do. When you have a focal point on something you want in life, you must clear the fog so you can stay focused on where you are trying to go or accomplish. When things get challenging, allow your drive to continue to push you forward. Do everything wholeheartedly and with intention, work hard, and be present moment by moment.

What's three things you want us to know about self-love/wellness?: 1. Your body is an ecosystem, and you must take care of her. Love her. Feed her wholesome foods. Move her. Dress her up and make yourself feel good. Tell her kind words. Surround her with down to earth, positive people. Hydrate her.
2. Setting boundaries with yourself and others is essential.You have to be willing to say no, not only to others but to yourself when needed because boundaries keep you grounded. This type of self-love takes a lot of discipline.
3. Movement really is medicine. Moving your body heals you, not only physically but emotionally and mentally as well. Energy does not die, it just shows up in different forms. Movement allows you to move stagnant energy throughout your body, and use it for good.
What's something we can incorporate today to LIVE LIFE WELL?:: Drink your water, and stay hydrated.

What inspired you to start your business? What motivates you to keep going?: In 2013, I was completing my PhD in Social Work. I had heard Dr. Kerry Ann Rocquemore speak about academic entrepreneurship. I was inspired to launch my speaking, writing and consulting business as a means to share my gifts with others. My work centers on faith, self love, success, and health relationships. In 2015, I wrote "The SHE Devotional: 31 Daily Inspirations for a Woman's Spirit, Health and Emotions" as a means to encourage busy women to practice self compassion and self love.
I am motivated to keep going because I know I have a larger purpose.
I want to leave a legacy and make a meaningful impact on the world.
How do you create the life you want?: My faith is extremely important to me. Each day, I strive to wake up with intention and to act in a purposeful way. In general, I plan things. I recognize that my spiritual, physical and emotional well-being matters to my success in life. As such, I strive to prioritize those areas. By doing so, I am able to focus on my goals and reach them. I am also in tune with my feelings.
If something doesn't feel right for me or bring me peace, I separate from it or move in a different direction. My life has to be peaceful. I am intentional about seeking out people and experiences that bring me the most peace.
What makes you HUMAN?: I cry, feel, hurt, get upset, have anxiety, laugh and love like all human beings. As a social worker, I am trained to study human behavior and diagnosis people's problems. I am trained to problem solve. It it easy to focus the lens on others and map out a path for them. But what about my own humanity?
I strive to become more self-aware, conscious, and in tune with myself, my feelings, my thoughts, my joy and pain. I also strive to tune into the plight of those around me. My husband, Timothy, tells me I care about issues that others might not find interesting. I love knowing why people think, feel, and behave certain ways. My passion for seeing people live whole healthy makes lives me human because I share that same desire. If I can help others learn and/or be taught by others, I welcome the experience. We are all works in progress.

I always tell people: self love and self care are not independent. If you do not love yourself, you will not care for yourself.
Second, self love allows you to clearly know your value and self-worth as a human. When you know your worth, you will raise the standards for yourself. Third, boundaries are a part of self-love. It is not selfish to prioritize your spiritual, mental and physical health You must protect your personal peace at all costs.
What's something we can incorporate today to LIVE LIFE WELL?:: Given the gravity of Covid-19 and its impact on all aspects of our lives, self care is essential. I believe it is important to strive to to make responsible food choices and to exercise. It is important to make time for your spiritual, physical, and emotional health. Activities like prayer and meditation, walking, jogging, running, dancing, and writing, signing, even TikTokking and provide a release. You don't have to be perfect. You just have to try to prioritize yourself. Also, let go of shame. During this pandemic, if you need help in any area of your life, ask for it. Shame paralyzes us and stresses us out. Due to Covid-19, many people are extremely stressed and struggling with anxiety. We all need help in various areas of our lives. We will get through this experience, together. Ask for what you need. Don't suffer in silence.
